Ex Pat BTL

I wish to BTL a UK property value around £200000 on a LTV 75% approx. I am currently on a 2 year (the open ended) teaching contract in China. Can you please advise on availability and procedure.

Richard,

There are several Lenders around at the moment who will consider mortgage applications from people resident overseas for a UK BTL property.

The maximum LTV is usually 70% and so you may struggle to find a mortgage if you are unable to put down a slightly higher deposit. Rather than ring around all the Lenders, I recommend that you speak to a UK based independent mortgage broker about your requirements. Typically there will not be any fee charged for researching the market on your behalf.
