We're 61 & 62 can we get a Buy To Let Mortgage for 12 years?

Posted on 18 July 2013 by Lynn

We are both semi retired, we have just sold our house and live with our daughter we want a buy to let property which we will put over 50% deposit down is it possible to get a mortgage for 12 years we are 62 and 61 respectively.

Lynn,

With regard to Buy To Let, although your ages maybe erstrictive to some lenders, there are still many in the market who are less concerned over the age of the borrowers, as their lending decison is based more around the proerty and the rental income likely to be generated. The fact that you are putting down a 50% deposit will also be a plus in your favour too.

As such I can't see why we sholdn't be able to get you the mortgage you need, and for a term of 12 years.

Please let me know when would be a good time to talk and I'll arrange for you to speak to one of our consultants,w ho can run through things in a bit more detail.

Regards,

Alistair
