Retirement Home Plans/SHIP

Posted on 25 April 2010 by John Birbeck

Which lender offers Retirement Home Plans?  Is there a broker who deals in these?

John

Retirement Homeplans, Lifetime mortgages, Equity Release mortgages are a very specialist area of the market and subject to stringent regulation by the Financial Services Authority. This has limited the number of Lenders in the market and the number of brokers who are able to give advice on them.

I refer to my answer to the previous question on Lifetime mortgages and in addition suggest that you look at the Safe Home Income Plans (SHIP) website below. SHIP represents the majority of the equity release market in terms of volume and its members include the leading providers of lifetime mortgages and home reversion plans.

Again, I recommend that you seek independent legal advice and speak to a specialist mortgage broker about you requirements.
