my husband has been living in australia with me for the last 12 years, (he is scottish). We have a property, under my name, with around 50,000GBP left for us after sale, and around 50,000GBP in savings, plus moving costs. We hope to move back to scotland, preferably after securing purchase. I have a 3 year history of mortgage repayments (in au) and he has a well-paid job to return to. We expect to pay a 25%deposit- what are our chances of a mortgage? My australian bank cannot help. (btw i am 39 yrs, he is 44 yrs)
We would almost certainly be able to help you with your enquiry. Although there are a lot of lenders who don't deal with 'ex-pat's' returning to the UK, as a 'Whole O'f Market' mortgage we do have access to lenders who can help borrowers in your situtation. If you would like to speak to one of our consultants, to get a better idea of the options open to you, please let me know and I'll organise a suitable time for them to contact you.
