Mortgage possible with Debt Management Plan

I am not living with my partner yet but can I get a mortgage with him while I am on a debt management plan?  I am still making regular and up to date payments to my creditors.

It is very difficult to get a mortgage whilst you are on a debt management plan and probably will be for sometime after. Whether or not you can will depend on what is showing on your credit report and how much a Lender has to rely on your income to cover the amount you want to borrow. If your boyfriend earns enough to cover the mortgage on his own and you have a reasonable deposit it is possible a Lender may be willing to overlook your poor credit history.

I recommend that you get a copy of your credit report from one of the major Credit Reference agencies: Experian, Equifax or Callcredit. The maximum cost to see your statutory report is £2 and you can view it online or get a copy by post and then speak to a local independent mortgage adviser about your situation.
