My ex partner will not let me take my name off a mortgage we have together even though she has been told she can afford to go alone on mortgage with her salary. She is purposefully obstructing me as she knows I am trying to buy a new home. She says that she has been advised because there are children involved that a court will not push through the sale of my share. Is this true?

It is clear that your ex wife has taken advice and you must too. I recommend that you speak to your solicitor or Citizens Advice about your situation.
