Is it possible for a British Citizen to take out a mortgage on an Irish property?

Posted on 4 June 2013 by Alison

Is it possible in the current market for a Brit to take out a mortgage on an Irish property? We would have 50% deposit (minimum). We live and work in the UK but have sold our house here and have cash in the bank. The irish property would be a holiday home.

Alison,

It is possible, though not overly easy, to get a mortgage on properties in the Republic of Ireland, and the low loan to value at 50% will ceratinly help.

Before saying whether we can assist you, there's quite a lot more information we'd need. If you'd like to explore how we can assist you in more detail, then please let me know, and I'll arrange for one of our consultants to contact you.
