Hi, my husband applied for remortgage in his name only but he failed because of my bad credit, even though he has perfect credit. Can they fail him because of me? Thanks
In short, yes. If you have any credit held in joint names this creates a financial association and when any one looks at your credit files both your and your husband's records will come up.
The lender your husband has applied to probably uses an automated credit score to decide who to lend to and your bad credit can result in his application being declined.
I believe we can help your husband and that he would benefit from speaking to one of our independent mortgage advisers. Please ask him to call 0344 346 3672 and tell the consultant the date and title of your question, they will then be able to help him find the right mortgage lender for your situation.
