Can we do a Buy To Let?

Posted on 14 February 2013 by Kim

My husband and I have savings of 100,000 don't own property and unfortunately have a default each on our credit file posted in August 2010 (this was due to my husband taken I'll) we would like to invest in a BTL property to produce a income - currently our earrings are £8000.

Kim,

Much of what we would be able to do for you is down to how much you are looking to borrow. Most Buy To Let lenders have a minimum level of earned income that they require you to have, and the £8,000 you have mentioned is below the figure most lenders require. The defaults you have are fairly historic and therefore we may able to help on this enquiry.

We do need some additional information, and I think it's worth arranging for you to have an initial discussion with one of our consultants to look at your options in a bit more detail. If you'd like to do so, please let me know and I'll arrange a convenient time for you to speak to one.

Regards,

Simon
