As an Ex-pat can I still do a Buy To Let remortgage?

Posted on 22 January 2013 by David

As a UK citizen now resident in France with a house currently let out on a mortgage with letting permission will I be able to remortgage on a buy to let basis when the current permission expires?

David,

There's nothing in your enquiry to suggest that you won't be able to move onto a Buy To Let mortgage when your current consent ends. However the market for Ex-pat Buy To Lets has reduced a bit over the past few months, though there are still some good options out there.

Without knowing the exact figures regarding the current value of your property, mortgage balance and the rental income currently being generated, I cant really say anymore.

If you'd like to discuss your enquiry in more detail, then please let me know and I'll arrange for you to speak to one of our consultants.

Regards,

Simon
