I'm 70 years old, can I get a £40,000 mortgage to improve my house?

Posted on 23 March 2013 by Michael

I am just 70 years of age and have a house in Kent which is free of all mortgages now. I would like to make improvements to the house and would like to borrow approx £40,000?

Michael,

Depending on the actual loan to value of the property, your income and general financial situation, then I can't see why you shouldn't be able to raise the £40,000 you are looking for to improve your property.

If you'd like to talk through your enquiry in more detail, please let me know and I'll arrange to put you in touch with one of our consultants.

Regards,
