I'm 68 and looking to borrow £100,000. Can I get a mortgage?

Posted on 19 May 2013 by Loudon

I would like to take out a mortgage for £100,000 on a property worth £237.000 I have properties at the moment worth around £400.000 (no mortgages). My income is around £40,000 per year. I'm 68 years old in in June this year.

Loudon,

From the details you've supplied, I don't see why we couldn't get you the mortgage you need. It's true that many of the high street lenders have taken a negative stance against the more mature borrowers, but there are still a good number of mainly smaller lenders, that we could approach to assist you.

If you'd like to discuss your enquiry in more detail, then please let me know and I'll arrange a sonvenient time for one of our consultants to contact you.

Regards,

Simon
