Can my partner remortgage without my permission?

Posted on 25 September 2012 by claire

My Partner wonts to renew the mortgage in his sole name but keep my name on the deeds. Where do i stand with this. Can he sell the property from under me, do i have any say in the property?

Claire

Very simply, if you are listed as a registered owner then your partner will not be able to take a mortgage out in his sole name.

I have passed you enquiry to our in house solicitors, Rollingson's so that they can advise you where you stand from a legal point of view.  They will be in touch with you by e mail before the end of the week.
