Can I remortgage the house my parents gifted to me?
Posted on 23 April 2013 by Vicki

I have recently had a house gifted by my parents. The house is worth around £190,000. Can I remortgage this property?
Vicki,
In the main, there's no reason why you shouldn't be able to remortgage this property. The only area that might be an issue is if you haven't owned the property for at least 6 months. Otherwise it would be a straight forward case of meeting the lenders standard criteria and selecting the right propduct for your circumstances.
