Can I have a guarantor on a mortgage who is based abroad?

Posted on 18 February 2010 by Jose

Hi,

Can my mother who works and lives abroad be allowed to be a guarantor for my mortgage?

Jose

I am only aware of one lender who may agree to your mother acting as guarantor and then only in exceptional circumstances.

I recommend you speak to an independent mortgage adviser who will be able to explore other options available to you in your situation.
