Can I get a mortgage to buy a plot of land & build a home?

Can I get a mortgage to buy a plot of land & build a home?

Hi, I've seen a plot of land that I wish to buy. Can I get a mortgage to buy this piece of land? I plan to build a home for my family on it but this may not happen for a number of years as I plan to save more money. Does this matter?

Ian,

Thank you for your enquiry. Purchasing land without an intention to build immediately can be problematic, especially if there is no planning permission on the land itself.

In order to give you a clearer idea, it would be best if we arranged for you to speak to one of our consultants, in more detail.

If you'd like to do so, please let me know and I'll arrange a convenient time for one of them to contact you.

Regards,

Simon
