Staggeringly, most of the big lenders in the market seem to have passed on the full rate cut to their borrowers as I write.

Of course, you would have to have been on the moon to have missed the bad news - after bad news - on mortgages of late. Funding is an issue so it is a real surprise that most lenders have been quite so generous.

However, a point of note. We are fully expecting further base rate cuts and it would be a real surprise if lenders do not take the opportunity to make up some ground then... watch this space.

The lenders are not providing a public service and are not generally registered charities they are in the business to make a profit for their shareholders.
