Seems obvious, but we are not talking about the actual shape of one's abode.  Rather the movement in the value of each distinct type of property.  Figures released today from the government show that the avearge price of a flat fell by 3.6% between May and June this year.  In contrast, the average price of a detached family home rose 0.7% over the same period.  Single storey living is clearly the most popular at the moment though, with bungalows rising 0.8% over the month.

It really highlights that you should be wary of taking statistics on their own without specific reference to your own property.
