Change to our website
Posted on 26 February 2010
Why have you changed your website so that it is no longer possible for me to do my own research into what products are available without having to be pestered by a mortgage adviser. I don't want to be 'pressurised' in the early stages of my research.
The change we have made to our website is a reflection of the market we currently find ourselves in. We fundamentally believe that generic advice is of little use now when arranging a mortgage has become extremely difficult. Revealing to consumers products that they may be eligible for, and thus arguably saying "go to this lender" is not, in our opinion, good advice when there is every chance a consumer may not qualify for it on some underlying criteria reason that no website can predict. A knowledge of which lender will accept particular cases is crucial to ensure the most efficient of experiences, and we believe that talking to one of our consultants is by far and away the best way to do this.
Even if you are in the initial stages of research, it is better to know who you can deal with and who you cannot, and a consultant can provide this for you with no pressure to transact at that stage.
I hope this clarifies why we have made the change.
Kind regards
