How do I get an Agreement in Principle using the Charcol website without having chosen a property to buy yet?

How do I get an Agreement in Principle using your website? I have found the mortgage I like, but I have not found a property so I am not in a position to proceed with a full mortgage application.

Hello Caroline,

For an Agreement In Principle just find the product that you want then either use the 'Form Filling Service' (it's an option when you chose your product) or you can fill in the form yourself.  Ignore the property questions, put in xx's or 'TBC'.

When it is received at this end charcol.co.uk will send you your formal Key Facts Illustration and if you are happy with it they will do a credit search with the lender and send you over the Agreement In Principle certificate if it is agreed.  You can then leave it there for as long as you need until you find your property.

Obtaining an Agreement In Principle does not reserve the rate, so be aware that it may close while you are looking for a property, and you will have to select a new rate.
