Can I get a UK mortgage to buy a propery abroad?

I am a German citizen but UK resident, living and working in London for many years. I am looking into buying a property in Germany and would like to take out a UK mortgage. While many UK banks offer oversea mortgages they seem not to cover Germany. Would someone have similar experiences?

Yes it would be very unusual to get a UK mortgage for a German property.

A UK lender is not able to repossess or sell on a property abroad, so it would be worthless as security to them.

I don't know why you would want a UK mortgage, but several UK companies can arrange a German one for you and contact information from them is on my past letters
